Land and sea data

Data and Map

The Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities ensures the highest standard of mapping of Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

Various changes altering land composition and sea patterns require data to be continuously updated to provide quality assurance. Such efforts ensure efficient completion of construction works in the private and public sectors.

Climate change, natural dynamics of the earth's crust and weather affect the physical geography of land and sea. On land, urban development and infrastructure such as road networks and railways are constructed. At sea, bridges are built, offshore wind turbines are erected and natural seabed variations occur.

The Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities holds responsibility for management of the data system, which includes geographic data, measurements, land and nautical cartography, in addition to the cadastre and land surveyor systems.
