In Beijing, the minister takes part in the 8th ministerial meeting in CEM and the 2nd in MI. CEM and MI are made up of the world’s biggest economies and the four Nordic green frontrunners Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. In the margins of the official ministerial meeting, the meeting has a number of bilateral meetings, most importantly with the Chinese National Energy Administrator Mr. Nur Bekri.
The CEM and MI ministerials in Beijing have great importance for the Danish green ambitions within the climate agenda and within renewable energy and energy efficiency. Two areas, where Danish companies are world leaders.
This is one of the reasons why Mr. Lilleholt is extremely pleased with the possibility to host the 9th CEM and 3rd MI in Copenhagen and Malmö.

Green Danish ambitions
Denmark is among the world’s leading energy exporters. About 500 Danish companies have established themselves in China, among them a number of small and medium-sized Danish energy technology companies. China is Denmark’s biggest trading partner outside the EU, only to be surpassed by the US.
“I’m looking forward to my visit to China and to meeting Mr. Nur Bekri in order to discuss common interests and shared visions. Hopefully, my visit will also be helpful to Danish companies wishing to showcase their technologies and solutions to Chinese decision makers.”
Six Danish companies, business organizations and universities, active in China, will also be present at CEM/MI in Beijing. These include Vestas, Danfoss, DONG and the Technical University of Denmark.
