Ministers and decision-makers from the world’s largest economies will meet in Copenhagen and Malmø for five days towards the end of May 2018 in order to accelerate the global green transition. The member countries of the organisations Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and Mission Innovation (MI) account for 75% of global emissions and 90% of global energy investments combined. Thus, the green energy week is a unique opportunity to showcase sustainable Nordic solutions to ministers and decision-makers from all over the world. An important event on the road to realising the Paris Agreement’s vision of a fossil free future.
A contribution to global climate targets
The Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate is hosting the annual ministerial meetings in both Clean Energy Ministerial and Mission Innovation in collaboration with Sweden, Norway, Finland, the EU Commission and Nordic Council of Ministers.
In CEM, ministers and decision-makers meet and focus on how to exchange experiences with sustainable energy solutions. In MI, the focus is on strengthening research on clean energy technologies.

It provides us with an opportunity to show the largest economies in the world our solutions related to the green transition. Cross-sector collaboration
In parallel with the ministerial meetings in CEM and MI, there will be a range of conferences, meetings and events on energy and sustainability taking place under the title Nordic Clean Energy Week. State of Green is coordinating this initiative, with Vestas as their main sponsor. The purpose is to allow public and private actors, companies, organisations, universities etc. to present their solutions related to renewable energy.

CEM: Clean Energy Ministerial and Mission Innovation consist of almost all of the largest economies in the world as well as Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. CEM and MI is thereby Denmark’s direct entry point to the energy policies in G20. CEM focuses on practical cooperation, exchange of good experiences with green solutions and involvement from the industry.
MI: Mission Innovation was launched on the 30th of November 2015, on the opening day of COP21 in Paris. The initiative focuses on strengthening research in clean energy technologies in order to encourage a cheaper green transition through ongoing cost reductions and thereby provide an important contribution to the implementation of the Paris Agreement from COP21.
