WHAT: 2022 International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency (in-person event)
WHO: The Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Dan Jørgensen will co-host the event with Executive Director of the IEA Dr. Fatih Birol. More than 20 ministers and thought-leaders from across the world will attend the event to discuss implementation of energy-efficient solutions that benefit the climate and the citizens. The conference has organized with private sector support from Danfoss, the Danish Confederation of Danish Industry and State of Green.
WHEN: The conference runs from Tuesday the 7th June through Thursday the 9th June. The press can participate in events throughout the entire conference.
Furthermore, there will be separate events exclusively for members of the press.
A press briefing on June 7th at 1.30 pm (local time), will present key results from new research highlighting how faster action on energy efficiency can lower energy costs, increase energy security and help achieve net zero climate goals. The research will be published on the 8th.
Site visits around Sønderborg to showcase different EE-solutions will be open for press participation on the 7th.
The press conference on June 8th: at 11.15 am (local time) will feature IEA’s Executive Director, Dr. Fatih Birol, the Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Dan Jørgensen and Executive Director at Danfoss Kim Fausing.

WHY: For the first time ever, the IEA’s Annual EE-Conference will take place in Denmark. The conference will provide Ministers and thought-leaders a unique opportunity to figure out how to double down on the use of energy and increase energy-efficient solutions globally. In light of the ongoing energy-crisis in Europe, increasing green and efficient energy solutions is more important than ever.
